Joe's Meat MarketIn 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of one of the best meat markets in Cleveland. He sold only the highest quality meats, believing you had to buy the best to sell the best. We continue that legacy today in our meat departments with Heinen’s Own meats. That’s the designation we give to meats that are sourced and raised according to our own specifications. They’re that special and we call them Heinen’s Own.
Heinen's Own BeefOur Never, Ever Beef comes from cattle raised without steroids, growth hormones or antibiotics, no matter which cut you choose. And because beef is our legacy, we are single-minded about how it must taste: great—no matter which cut you choose. Heinen's Dry-Aged BeefDry-aging has been used for centuries to mature beef. If you love fine beef, there is no substitute for dry-aging. The carefully controlled process allows the meat’s natural enzymes to create rich, robust flavors and a remarkable tenderness. We recommend you check with our expert butchers for selection and grilling or roasting of dry-aged beef. Required cooking times are shorter. Heinen's Own PorkIn the tradition of Heinen’s fine meats, we went to great lengths in our search for high quality, source-verified pork for our stores. Today, we meet regularly with our farmers to specify both feed and handling requirements. As a result, we know how and where our premium pork is raised, no matter which cut you choose. Heinen's Marinated MeatsWe begin with selecting a cut of meat and one of our own special marinades. Then we use a vacuum tumbling marinating process that allows the flavors to penetrate more deeply than in ordinary marinating. The result is richly seasoned meat, ready for you to cook at home. Heinen's Own Bone-In HamOur award-winning ham has an unmatched rich, mellow smokehouse flavor. Three of our secrets: natural wood hickory chips, no added water or binders and yes; we still use Joe Heinen’s original recipe. Heinen's Own Spiral Cut HamFirst, we gently roast our award winning ham in a glorious brown sugar glaze. Then we spiral slice it for easy serving. We may not have had the first spiral sliced ham, but now we have the best one--at a great price! Order right at our counters or conveniently by phone. Gerber ChickenWe’re proud to carry Gerber’s Poultry, a third generation, family-owned company whose fresh chicken has a reputation for excellence throughout our state. Local Amish and Mennonite families raise the poultry on all natural, hormone and antibiotic- free, vegetarian diets. Heinen's Own SausageSausage making is the fine art of charcuterie and we are masters at it. We’ve been making our sausage for three generations and yes; we still use Joe Heinen’s original recipes.
Heinen's Own Bacon Heinen’s Own Bacon ranks high on our customers’ all-time favorites list. We don’t add water to the meat, so it sizzles as it crisps. Then, our special sugar to salt ratio makes it caramelize beautifully. Finally, we use genuine hickory wood chips to impart a subtle smokiness. There’s no other bacon like it.
Heinen's Own Cottage HamWe’ve been making our cottage ham for three generations—and our butchers think it’s absolutely perfect. Cottage ham is a savory, smoked cut of meat from the pork shoulder, meant to be simmered slowly or low-temperature roasted. Moist, tender, and just slightly smoky-sweet, it’s an old-fashioned secret you shouldn’t miss.
Heinen's Own Canadian Bacon Our Canadian bacon is pure, lean pork tenderloin with no water injected. We smoke it naturally over real hickory wood chips. Already fully cooked, just warm it gently. |
