In 1956, Hans Rothenbuhler made the first 250 pound wheel of cheese for the Middlefield Swiss Cheese Co-op. This was the fulfillment of a dream begun in his native Switzerland where Hans studied cheesemaking. Located in the rolling hills of Amish Country in Geauga County, Ohio, Middlefield's cheese is not only great tasting, but award winning.
