Have you picked out the perfect gift for Father's Day? Instead of the standard tie or wallet, how about surprising him with a cold one! We asked Tim Mills, Beer Specialist at Heinen's Middleburg Heights, for his top beer picks for dad.
Turbo Shandy from Hoppin’ Frog Brewery
Shandies have been the rage for the past few years, but Hoppin’ Frogs’ take on it is unique. This Shandy comes in at 7% alcohol which is a bit higher than most. This is definitely a great lawn mowing beer…made from an ale base, and the citrus makes this one truly refreshing.
Hairy Eyeball from Lagunitas Brewery
Considered a strong ale by most, the Hairy Eyeball is in this beer specialist’ top 3 beers of all time. Perfectly balanced between the hop and the malt and coming in at almost 10%, this beer will get you moving and keep you going.
Great Lakes Dortmunder from Great Lakes Brewery
If your dad is "Mr. Dependable" this is his equivalent beer. This has been, dare I say, the flagship beer for not only Great Lakes but for all of Cleveland, for over 25 years.
None of these strike your fancy? Just chat to the beer specialist at your local Heinen’s for even more recommendations. If your dad is more of a wine guy, we’ve got you covered there too with our fine wine department and wine specialists who are always ready to give out recommendations.
