Take advantage of this great wine at a great value! Because of the relationships we have with our winery and distribution partners, we're able to give you this incredible value. While supplies last, 2011 Unsung Hero Malbec is just $12.99 – a $30 savings off the $42.99 list price!

You will be far from an 'unsung hero' when you share this classically-flavored Malbec deal of the year with your family and friends.  Through some keen contacts stateside and in Argentina, I was able to grab as much as I could of this remarkable wine that tastes like a million, but costs a whole lot less.

My enthusiasm aside, The Wine Advocate recently sang the praises of this one, stating that “it has an attractive, refined bouquet with earthy, leathery notes suffusing on crisp black fruit. It is imbibed with attractive dark berry fruit and has a lovely touch of sage and white pepper on the aftertaste.”

This wine goes great with beef or pork, even better if it's grilled! It's perfect to enjoy on the patio with family and friends.

This Malbec is the real deal. Huge savings isn't a great value unless the wine delivers at its former price point, and Unsung Hero certainly does! When we get great deals, we're not trying to just pass along a price reduction, we're trying to give our customers a fantastic bottle of wine for a fantastic price, and Unsung Hero fits the bill.

Don't miss your chance to pick up a few cases of this ultimate summer grilling wine while we have it. Supplies are limited, and once it's gone, it's gone!

I am also confused. I have seen this wine for $13.49 on various web sites. Where did you get the $42.99 price?

Jim and Peggy, I'm sorry for the confusion. The introductory price on this wine from our supplier was the $42.99 price point.

So are you saying that the actual price this wine will be selling for after the introductory period is under $15.00?

Isn't the Internet wonderful? I too checked out the alleged incredible savings on this Malbec and no one lists this Malbec for $49.99. The highest price I've seen it listed for is $17.99. Don't you just hate it when a store tries to hype a product. Tells you a lot about the character ofthe company.

I also checked out the "sale price" on several other of their promoted wines and surprise surprise the sales price is the normal retail price at Binny's on Skokie Blvd.

As for the 89 rating by Parker the Wine Advocate states "The 2011 Unsung Hero Malbec from Medrano is fermented in barrel and tank and aged in French Nadalie barriques for 12 months. It has an attractive, refined bouquet with earthy, leathery notes suffusing the crisp black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with sharp acidity on the entry that needs to discover more harmony. That is a shame, because it is imbued with attractive dark berry fruit and has a lovely touch of sage and white pepper on the aftertaste. Drink now-2014." —Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate (October 2012)

Thank you for your perspective on the way we advertise our wines. The savings we show represents the original price that it was released at to the US market, per The Wine Advocate. We are currently working on better ways to show value and special savings on our wines, and your perspective gives us valuable feedback that we can use to better explain our wine specials.
