Job Summary:

The Catering Driver is expected to uphold the quality of Heinen’s standards and take on the responsibilities within the Catering Department including but not limited to catering vehicles, the catering stock rooms, and equipment.  This individual should be self-motivated, dependable,organized, able to multi task on a daily basis, possess a good driving record and has the ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Catering stock rooms at the warehouse:
    • Responsible for emptying all catering vehicles after events.  This is done on Saturday and Sunday mornings mainly, but also on weekdays.
    • Properly staging and (sometimes) washing catering equipment. 
    • Returning all equipment to the proper locations in the catering rooms.
    • Perform inventory on catering paper goods.
  • Catering Vehicles:
    • Maintaining the catering vehicles cleanliness.
    • Assisting with the upkeep of catering vehicles.
    • Make deliveries.
    • Stocking back up inventory.
  • Kitchen Support
    • Working with the Catering Chef.
    • Pulling supplies for the catering events.
    • Assisting in the kitchen if needed.
    • Utilize Heinen’s purchasing procedures and purchase ingredients as needed.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving product from vendors, verifying product and sorting/segregating product for shipment to our stores the same day.

Responsibilities:

The Allotment Team member will be required to complete daily tasks necessary to process just in time inventory into and out of facility in a manner that ensures 100% on time delivery to Heinen’s retail grocery stores.  Typical tasks may include:

  • Accurately identify, verify, record inbound allotment shipments.  Review package descriptions to ensure contents and quantities match purchase order.
  • Insure product and packaging integrity, examine product for dates, defects and damage.
  • Work with other team members to facilitate proper sorting, segregating and staging of product for shipment to Heinen’s retail grocery stores.
  • Communicate with other team members to facilitate processing with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, wears required personal protective equipment.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work the following schedule:  Sunday through Thursday 9:00pm to 5:30am.
  • High school diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with specific computer software programs.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Ability to work efficiently at a rapid pace.
  • Good attendance.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in team atmosphere.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The associate may have to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision.Associate will be required to work extended periods in refrigerated SPACE (34°F) and freezer SPACE (-10°F).  Cold weather Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided by company.

Job Responsibilities:

Reaching/bending/twisting and stooping/kneeling/crouching to place merchandise in storage areas and on pallets.

Reaching/grasping/manipulating all equipment in a safe and proper manner (e.g. towmotor, dolly and pallets).

Reaching/grasping/manipulating all merchandise (e.g. boxes).

Reading, understanding, using and following information on store orders, merchandise, equipment and procedures.

Reading and identifying merchandise and stock location tickets.

Writing on forms and store orders.

Reading and writing shipping manifests and purchase orders.

Being able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers for the purpose of checking merchandise.

Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all customers and all associates.

Lifting/lowering and pushing/pulling merchandise weighing up to 70 pounds from floor level to approximately 6 feet high over 1000 times a day.

Tolerating temperatures down to 35 degrees F for a period up to 8 work hours (Freezer Order Picker only).

Tolerating temperatures down to 10 degrees F below zero for a period up to 8 work hours (Produce Order Picker only).

Being able to stay in the confined area of the operator compartment (approximately 4 feet by 6 feet) of the hi-lift for an 8 hour work shift.

Being able to identify overhead stock of up to 20 feet.

Giving proper and friendly service to all associates and outside representatives.

Being able to effectively communicate with all customers and associates.

Standing/walking for up to 8½ hours, with ½ hour lunch and one 15 minute breaks as rest periods (maximum 3 hours at a time on feet).
