Add Some Winter Wattage to Outdoor Lighting

December 4, 2017

Decking your home with greenery, baubles and floral fun for the holidays: a six-part series teaching simple design techniques using grocery store finds.

Do you have an outdoor lamppost at the end of your driveway? Perhaps your front door is flanked with a pair of pretty lantern-like sconces. Does your backdoor have an overhead lamp to illuminate the back porch while you attempt to find your keys during these darker winter months? Why not take the time to spruce up your lighting for the holiday and winter months ahead. With just a few easy steps your lighting can be as pretty as any flower arrangement you have inside your home.

Step 1: To start, we recommend picking up one of the pre-made greenery swags from Heinen’s. Whether you opt to keep the swag intact and affix it to the lamppost with some simple floral wire or whether you choose to disassemble it and use each bough individually… either approach will work.

Step 2: Use additional bunches of red or white berries as a festive décor element that can add small pops of color and texture to your outdoor lighting decorating fun. These small details can take any lamp or sconce from winter drab to festive and fun.

Did you decorate your lamp post or outdoor sconce with greenery from  Heinen’s?  Share it with us using the hashtag #heinensholidaydecor. We can’t wait to see what you created!
