We Know Our Sources: Zeller’s Family Farm

As a long-time supporter of local farmers and growers, we’re proud to have a strong connection to the best sources for locally grown produce. We are pleased to offer a wide variety of top-quality produce from a select group of regional farmers and farm cooperatives all summer long. Throughout the growing season, our stores become a local farmers market featuring the best of farm-fresh local produce, open 7 days per week.

Zellers Family Farm

-Hartville, OH

We’ve been proudly carrying the fine quality produce from Zellers Family Farm for over a decade and we’re happy to continue that tradition this season. In fact, our produce departments have already begun to fill up with the best-of-the-best locally grown produce direct from Zellers in Northeast Ohio.

Since the early 1920s, the Zellers family has been growing top quality lettuces, radishes, herbs and other fine produce in Hartville, Ohio. Today, the family-owned farm covers over 1200 acres of pristine farmland in Northeast Ohio and is still cared for by the Zellers family. The farm’s soil is rich in organic material – ideal for growing nutritious vegetables. The crops are harvested fresh throughout the day and quickly cooled immediately to ensure maximum freshness.

Look for this great produce from Zellers this summer:

By Heinen's Produce Department
In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
