Club Fx is a new, FREE program for Heinen’s Tasteful Rewards members that offers education, support, incentives and a heavy dash of inspiration for customers to optimize their health!

Fx Pillars

The seven Fx Pillars are basic eating guidelines to optimize your health.

Pillar #1: Eat your greens, as many as you can every day
Pillar #2: Eat the rainbow, at least one fruit and two vegetables every day
Pillar #3: Dose with omega-3 fats every day
Pillar #4: Pick your protein: choose plants over fish over fowl over beef
Pillar #5: Choose whole grains, preferably sprouted
Pillar #6: Remember functional foods: fresh herbs and fermented foods
Pillar #7: Watch your sugar and salt: minimize added sugar and sodium


Fx Top 100

We understand there’s a lot of confusion when it comes to nutrition, so our team of wellness experts have worked to make it simple for you!

Our Fx-100 List provides 100 recommended foods that can be added to meals to support the seven Fx Pillars. Of course, there are more than 100, but we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get started on your wellness journey.


Smart Supplementation

The Fx Pillars and Fx-100 products are most effective when combined with the right whole-food supplements to support key areas of health, including: digestive health, hormonal health, cardiovascular health, immune support, joint support, cognitive health, and purification and detoxification. 

There are FIVE essential vitamins that are necessary due to depleted soils and toxic element in our environment. They include a whole food-based multivitamin, bioavailable iodine, probiotic, vitamin D3, and algae-based DHA. 

In addition to these five essentials, there are other supplements that we call “Essentials Plus” that help us manage the various stressors of our modern lifestyles. These essential plus supplements are specific to your needs:

Meet the Experts

Dr. Todd Pesek, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Todd J. Pesek, M.D. is passionate about holistic health and timeless healing traditions that help maintain personal health and vitality. Dr. Pesek is a holistic physician, medical advisor, published scholar, professor and author who has collaborated with traditional healers and holistic practitioners in places as far away as India, Peru, Japan, Costa Rica and Belize. Dr. Todd received his medical doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic. He completed his training in medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and St. Vincent Charity Hospital.

In addition to his role as Heinen’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pesek is the founder of VitalHealth Partners, a private group medical practice that focuses on preventive, integrative, holistic healthcare. A tenured Health Sciences Professor at Cleveland State University, Dr. Pesek teaches, researches and serves as the Founding Director for the Center for Healing across Cultures. Dr. Pesek is also the founder of Nutritional Roots, a leading whole-food supplements company.

Melanie Jatsek, RD, LD

Chief Registered Dietitian

Melanie Jatsek believes that the answer to a strong, healthy and vibrant body lies within. She graduated cum laude from the University of Akron, earning a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and has over 20 years of experience in wellness program development, health coaching and professional speaking. As a published author of three books and registered dietitian for Heinen’s Grocery Store, Melanie offers programs, services, and tools to help Heinen’s customers take inspired action to build the healthy body they were meant to live in…without giving up their favorite foods.

Abigail Taft, MS, RD, LD

Registered Dietitian

Abigail Taft is a functional registered dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. She believes there is nothing that impacts your health more than the food you eat. She coaches individuals on how to use nutrition and lifestyle change to optimize their health, improve their relationship with food, achieve weight goals, improve digestion, decrease risk and manage chronic disease and create sustainable change. She’s passionate about showing people how to make healthy and delicious food a seamless part of their lifestyle.

Certified Wellness Consultants

Heinen’s Wellness Consultants provide you support in each of our in-store Wellness Centers. Whether you need advice on whole-food supplements, superfoods, or staple grocery items, Wellness Consultants provide the knowledge you value.

Personalized Nutrition Services

Club Fx Intro with a Certified Heinen’s Wellness Consultant

Schedule a one-on-one consultation to explore Club Fx. You can meet your Wellness Consultant; learn about Club Fx; learn about the Fx Pillars; understand how to navigate the store with the Top 100 buttons; do a store tour. This time is yours to take a step towards optimizing your health, free of charge.

This service is offered in-store only.

Our Wellness Centers are open from 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday and 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

Cart Check

Want to know what to add, replace or reduce based on your health goals? Our Wellness Consultants are here to help! You can find them in the Wellness Department at your preferred Heinen’s location.

Club Fx members have the opportunity to schedule a 30-minute in-store Cart Check with their home store certified Wellness Consultant, free of charge.

* This service is offered in-store only.

Our Wellness Centers are open from 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday and 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

Personalized Nutrition Coaching

Interested in diving a bit deeper into optimizing your health? Club Fx members have access to additional concierge services for a fee.

Personalized Nutrition Coaching allows for individualized work with Heinen’s Registered Dietitians Melanie Jatsek, RD, LD or Abigail Taft, MS, RD, LD.

Schedule an appointment to identify your health goals and determine your personalized Fx Script to meet those goals. Your dietitian will work to identify the foods and supplements that are best for you. After a 90-minute introductory visit, your dietitian will give you a store tour to guide your shopping with these Fx Scripts. You will be introduced to your home store Wellness Consultant so they too can help you on subsequent shopping trips.

Your dietitian will meet with you two more times for 30 minute-sessions to ensure you are on the right track. Plus, for that initial month, you can have access to unlimited chat exchanges with your dietitian.

Pantry Check

Another service offered to Club Fx members is a “Pantry Check.” What’s in your refrigerator and cupboards at home is as important as what you are buying at the store. This wrap-around approach is key in helping you make effective changes in your nutrition. Send your dietitian photos of your items at home, and they will work with you by making recommendations of what to reduce, replace and add to make your kitchen Fx approved!
