Zolo Unoaked Chardonnay – White

As the name not so subtly implies, this wine shows crisp and vibrant Chardonnay flavors without oaky notes.  Without the oak, a new Chardonnay experience can be had as green apple and citrus take center stage.  We love this one for a super fun picnic wine!

Petra Zingari – Red

A 5-Star Selection

This incredible value from Tuscany is not just one of our favorites, it’s also a wine critic’s darling.  Named the “#29 Top 100 Wines of 2019” by The Wine Spectator magazine, it features abundant red cherry, and fresh-cut herb notes.  A blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Petite Verdot, it’s as unique as it is delicious and is perhaps the most perfect ‘pizza wine’ we have tasted!

More from the Pick of the Vine Collection

Cline Zinfandel – Red

This ripe and juicy red from our friends at the Cline Cellars in Sonoma, California, this easy-drinking charmer is incredibly versatile.  It seamlessly makes friends with many foods, and our favorite pairings are grilled meats and spicy creations.

La Casa Dei Fiori Prosecco – White

While utterly delicious by itself, this wine is also our go-to choice for Mimosas.  Combined with Heinen’s fresh-squeezed orange juice, the classic mimosa is a great addition to Sunday or holiday brunches!

Glenelly Unoaked Chardonnay – White

A French Chateau in South Africa

A lifetime in the French wine industry and a trans-continental move to reap the benefits of rich South African soil makes the history of winemaker May de Lencuesaing’s unoaked chardonnay as unique as the taste.

Les Frères Bastard – White

A Wine that Lives on the Edge

A tribute to the Southern French heritage of the original “Bastard Brothers,” the unconventional label and 3-grape blend of this well-balanced white creates one of our edgiest wines!

Kuleto Frog Prince – Red

This complex red from California offers red raspberry and cherry aromas that entice the senses and lead to flavors of layered red fruits and spice.  A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel.  We love it with roasted meats!

Ambervale Chardonnay – White

Without question, this is the best under $10 Chardonnay that we sell.  Many customers agree as this is also the most popular Chardonnay in our stores.  It’s easy to see why, as this one features bold and ripe flavors on a smooth and buttery frame.  It’s a wine that Chardonnay fans love!

Santa Julia Torrontes – White

Torrontes is often referred to as the “national white grape of Argentina” because there’s nowhere else in the world will you find such a fun and aromatic example.   Featuring pronounced honeysuckle and pear aromas and flavors, there are ripe and generous notes on the palate that are perfect foils to spicy Asian seafood creations!

Goru Gold Spanish Red

This bright and tasty wine from Spain is a solid value that features bright cherry and currant notes.  There is a fun juiciness in this one that begs for pairing with your favorite braised meat dishes!

Santa Ema Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon – Red

This ripe and tasty wine from Chile is one of our best Cabernet Sauvignon values.  You’ll see why when you taste the ripe blackberry and on toasty notes on a super-smooth frame.

Chateau Haut Lagarde – White

We love this white Bordeaux (a blend of primarily Sauvignon Blanc with a splash of Semillon) because even on a cold winter day, a crisp glass of a chilled white can provide superb refreshment.  It’s great simply as a sipper, or paired with creamy goat cheeses too!

Joel Gott Palisades -Red

A Masterpiece in More Ways Than One

Prodigious winemaker, Joel Gott, blended six red grapes and expertly matched it with an artist-designed label that’s as bright as the flavors in the wine!

Codorníu Sparkling Cava – Rosé

A First of its Kind Sparkling Wine

Credit the creation of Cava to the Codorníus! Expertly crafted by the oldest family business in Spain, now led by the 16th generation, this sparkling rosé, made predominantly from Pinot Noir, was the first to incorporate Chardonnay into its blend and pays tribute to a Codorníu ancestor who changed the history of the winery.

Chateau Bourdieu – Red

A Wine of Good Taste

Skilled generational winemaker, Luc Schweitzer, dreamed of owning Chateau Bourdieu from childhood and laid claim to its clay and limestone-rich soil years later. Devoting constant care to the vineyard’s 35-year-old vines, this classic vintage is a party wine that pays respect to its region.

Alexander Valley Gewürztraminer – White

A Wine of the Night

Known as the most unique, yet underrated grape of Alsace, France, it’s only fitting that Alexander Valley’s Gewürztraminer is harvested in the shadows of the night from the cool, rugged terrain of the Potter Valley in Mendocino.

Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Volant – Red

Going “Rhône” on the Central Coast of California

Attempting to recreate the wines of Burgundy in California, expert winemaker, Randall Graham, known in the wine industry as the Rhône Ranger, discovered that it is, in fact, the varieties of the Rhône Valley that create the most magnificent blended wines on California’s Central Coast. This flagship red is the inaugural example!

Santa Julia Bonarda – Red

Be “in the know” with Bonarda

Zuccardi’s Bonarda grapes are grown high in the Andes Mountains where the bugs don’t fly, making them naturally organic and more widely planted than Argentinean Malbec.

Skeleton Gruner Veltliner – White

Sophisticated, Striking and Supersized

Stimulating on the palate and captivating to the eye, the explosive tart, citrusy, edgy flavors of Austria’s favorite white wine varietal could only be captured in a one-liter bottle.

Cline Pinot Gris – White

From One Family to Another

The Heinen family is so passionate about this refreshing white, they traveled to Cline’s fog-covered Sonoma vineyard to meet the family of winemakers and enjoy a bottle in person!

Purple Cowboy Cabernet Sauvignon – Red

A Wine to Watch

Step aside Napa and Sonoma, Paso Robles is the new Cabernet hotspot! Named after a group of winemaking cowboys whose love for blending red turned their teeth purple. Be the first to fall in love with this welcoming red and region!
