These colorful icons found next to items in our online store indicate how products may fit into your lifestyle. Each icon alerts you to important nutritional information, along with an indication of which products are on sale or those that you may have previously purchased. Whether you’re looking for keto-friendly and gluten-free products, or simply want to purchase foods low in fat or sugar, the icons will help guide you as you shop.

Organic

The Organic attribute includes any food or beverage product that has a published symbol, logo or certification relating to or claiming to be organically certified or products that are making a claim indicating that the product as whole is organic. Examples of qualifying claims include certified organic, USDA organic, and percentage claims indicating the product is greater than 95% organic.

Non-GMO

The Non GMO attribute includes food and beverage products that make either a non-GMO claim or contains a non-GMO certification on the product label.

Kosher

The Kosher attribute includes all products claiming to be Kosher or that have a Kosher certification.

Grain-Free

This attribute includes all products that are free of grain. This attribute uses information derived from the ingredient declaration as well as on-package claims. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • Products with an on-package claim indicating that they are free of grain.
  • Products that do not contain any grain ingredients.
Gluten-Free

The Gluten Free attribute includes food and beverage products that have a published symbol, logo, certification or marketing claim relating to or claiming to be gluten free.

No Added Sugar

The No Added Sugar attribute includes all products that have no added sugar ingredients and no added sugar in the NFP or make a claim on-package about being free from added sugar.

Sugar-Free

This attribute includes all products which meet the criteria of the Nutrient Content Claim “Sugar Free” as defined by the FDA. This attribute uses information derived from the nutrition facts panel as well as on-package information. To be eligible for this attribute products must meet the following requirement:

  • Products eligible for this attribute must contain a nutrition facts panel.
  • Products must not exceed thresholds that would require a disclosure statement by the FDA for Total Fat, Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium.
  • Products must also contain less than 0.5 grams of sugars per RACC and per serving on the nutrition facts panel.
  • This also includes products claiming to be sugar free.
Plant-Based

This attribute includes all products that are considered to be plant based. This attribute uses information derived from the ingredient statement as well as on-package claims and certifications. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • All products that contain a fruit, vegetable, legume/pulse, whole grain, or other wholesome plant-sourced ingredient AND do not contain meat, dairy, poultry, or seafood ingredients and by-products
  • Products with an on-package claim stating the product is vegan or plant-based
  • Products with an on-package certification stating the product is vegan or plant-based
Whole Grain

This attribute includes all products that are primarily whole grain. This attribute uses information derived from the ingredient statement as well as on-package claims. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • Products with a claim indicating the product is formulated with whole grains as the first ingredient.
  • Products contain an ingredient statement which has an ingredient known to be a whole grain in the first position within the order of the list of ingredients.
Ketogenic

This attribute uses derived information from the nutrition facts panel and ingredient declaration, category information and on-package claims and certifications. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • Products making an on-packing claim stating it is ketogenic or ketogenic certification or a low carbohydrate or carbohydrate free claim
  • Products free from ingredients considered to be grains, added sugars, fruit, tuber and legume ingredients, and any artificial, natural, and non-caloric sweeteners (stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol are allowed).
  • Products are not in a category excluded from a ketogenic diet.
  • Products with 5% or less of calories from total carbohydrates per serving, 5 grams or less of total sugars per 100 grams of product.
  • Dairy products that have no low fat, fat free or reduced fat claims.
Healthy Fats

This attribute uses information derived from the nutrition facts panel and ingredient declaration, on-package marketing claims and category information. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • Products with an on-package claim indicating it contains Omegas, ALA, DHA, EPA, or Monounsaturated Fats
  • Products that contain Omegas, ALA, DHA, EPA, or MUFA within the first 2 ingredients
  • Products that are in a category known to be good sources of Omegas and pass the FDA Disclosure Filter
Artificial Ingredient-Free

The Contains No Artificial Ingredients attribute includes products that have no ingredients from artificial sources. Products eligible for this attribute include:

  • Products that do not contain artificially-sourced color, artificial flavor, artificial sweetener, or artificial preservatives ingredients
  • Products that state on-package they are free from artificial ingredients.
Low Sodium

The Low Sodium Diet attribute includes any product that is low sodium. A product may qualify in one of the following ways:

  • The product qualifies for the FDA Low Sodium criteria per the Nutrition Facts Panel values, including disclosure statement criteria (this is determined through Label Insight’s nutrient analysis).
  • The product claims to be low sodium, very low sodium, or sodium free, or makes a disclaimer indicating the product does not have a significant source of sodium. This attribute excludes products that make a statement indicating they are not a low sodium food.
