This vibrant purple juice is more than just a pretty sight! It’s packed full of antioxidants and made entirely from fresh produce!
Juicing is a huge trend in the health and wellness world and no, I’m not talking about the juice you used to drink out of a box or pouch as a kid. I am talking about juices made from fresh, whole ingredients that are designed to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to thrive.
If you’ve perused the grocery store, you’ve probably seen pre-packaged juices in the refrigerated section. While these juices are made with real fruits and veggies and marketed as “healthy,” more often than not they also include artificial ingredients that diminish the health benefits.
When it comes to juices, I always recommend making them at home and using a veggie as the base! For this recipe, I used red cabbage! Don’t worry, you can’t taste its peppery flavor, but the color and nutrition it adds is unbeatable!
Combined with only three other fresh fruits and veggies, this juice can be made in a juicer or high-powered blender, so there’s no excuse not to try it! Just one sip and you’ll be on a juice kick!
- Prep time:
- Total time:
- 3 cups red cabbage, chopped
- 2 Persian cucumbers, chopped
- 1 apple, chopped
- 2 limes
- If using a juicer, juice all of the ingredients according to the instructions of your juicer. Enjoy immediately.
- If using a blender, add ¼ cup of water followed by the cabbage, cucumbers and apple. Juice the limes and add to the blender. Blend until smooth. Add more water if necessary to help blend. Place a nut milk bag over a bowl and strain the mixture. Squeeze the bag tightly with your hands until only the dry pulp is left in the bag. Discard the pulp. Enjoy the juice immediately.
