Mulled Wine in Single Glass

What is Mulled Wine?

Very simply, mulled wine is spiced, heated red wine. It is usually made with a bit of brandy and some form of sweetener. It’s very popular throughout Europe and can be found at outdoor holiday markets around this time of year. Not only is it delicious, but the preparation will fill your home with the most welcoming scent of citrus and warm spices.

Mulled Wine Ingredients

Spiced wine, or mulled wine, starts with a dry red wine that is heated slowly and mixed with whole spices such as cinnamon, star anise, allspice, cloves and citrus like oranges, lemons or limes. It can also be sweetened with agave honey, sugar or even apple juice.

It’s so simple and so delicious. Enjoy it now and all throughout the winter season!

Heinen's Grocery Store

By Heinen's Grocery Store

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
