Ingredients

  • Heinen's prepared macaroni and cheese
  • Heinen’s shredded and/or crumbled cheese, any varities
  • Heinen’s CARE Certified bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Heinen’s prepared pulled pork and/ or chicken
  • Crispy fried onions, store bought
  • Pickled jalapenos
  • Heinen’s frozen peas, thawed
  • Red onion, diced
  • Heinen's panko bread crumbs, buttered and toasted
  • Your favorite sauces (ranch dressing, sriracha, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the macaroni & cheese according to recipe directions. Keep warm in slow cookers.
  2. Set out your desired toppings in small bowls. Allow guests to assemble their own macaroni & cheese creations.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
