What’s For Dinner? Greek Lamb Burger

Burgers might be an American dish, but this one in particular has a Greek twist. Made with a juicy lamb patty and topped with a delicious gyro sauce, this dinner will take your taste buds on a trip to the Mediterranean with just one bite!

What’s For Dinner? Greek Lamb Burger

Ingredients

  • Shepherd’s Pride Ground Lamb
  • Aladdin’s Small Plain Pocket Pita
  • Amir’s Tzatziki Gyro Sauce
  • Heinen’s Baby Arugula
  • Mt. Olive Roasted Red Peppers
  • Mt. Vikos Feta Cheese
  • Near East Broccoli Cheese Couscous

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan. Prepare couscous according to package instructions
  2. While couscous is cooking, shape ground lamb into burgers. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill burgers until desired doneness. Split open the pita making a pocket for ingredients.
  4. Spread inside of pita with tzatziki then stuff with arugula, roasted peppers and feta cheese.
  5. Place burger inside pita pocket and serve with side of couscous.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
