Ingredients

  • Heinen's Mussels
  • Bell's Two Hearted Ale- IPA
  • Amish Roll Garlic Butter
  • Heinen's Diced Onions
  • Heinen's Baguette

Instructions

  1. Rinse mussels and tap any that are still open.
  2. Discard any that do not close after being rinsed and tapped.
  3. In a large sauce pan, add beer, onions and garlic butter.
  4. Bring to a boil, then add the mussels, cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the mussels open.
  5. Discard any that do not open.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped Italian parsley and serve with sliced baguette.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
