Airports have come a long way with their food offerings. While you’ll still always smell the aroma of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls upon exiting the TSA checkpoint, you don’t have to go very far to find healthier fare like fresh fruit, raw veggie cups, salads, oatmeal and low-sugar nutrition bars. The same is true when traveling by car. Although I’d much prefer Heinen’s fresh fruit to a gas station fruit cup, better options are available here too if you want them.
I find that packing my own healthy options is much less stressful than searching for them in the airport or on the road. Here are some of my favorite carry-on friendly, Fx™-approved foods and drinks from Heinen’s to fill you with energy as you reach your destination.
