Celebrate Halloween with Festive “Boo Bags”

Celebrate Halloween with Festive “Boo Bags”

The following recipe and photography were provided by local blogger Abby Thome of The Thome Home.

Happy Halloween! While trick-or-treating may look a little different this year, we can shake things up and make this spooky holiday memorable for the whole family!

If you’re like me and have little ones at home, put a twist on the traditional Halloween activities with a socially distant celebration!

Boo Bags

It’s simple! Think of a few friends, family members or neighbors and surprise them with a Halloween “Boo Bag!” What is a “Boo Bag” you ask?

It’s a whimsical spin on trick-or-treating that allows you to customize the treats that go into each bag. The trick is to drop the bags on the doorsteps of your chosen recipients to spread the Halloween cheer! This way the kids will experience all of the door-to-door fun and hopefully those that you surprise will be inspired to treat their loved ones, too!

Whether it be for kids or adults, these “Boo Bags” are sure to surprise, not spook! I turned to Heinen’s for seasonal inspiration and grabbed everything from candy and chocolate, to wine, beer, baked goods and more. You are sure to find plenty of items to pack your bags!
