The following recipe was created by Heinen’s Chef Jacki Novotny. Recipe photography provided by local blogger Carolyn Hodges of The Dinner Shift.

Backyard BBQ season is here, and Heinen’s is making it easier than ever to bring bold, smoky flavor to the table. Introducing Campfire Coffee-Crusted Beef Ribs, prepped and ready to go from Heinen’s Meat Department!

Think of beef ribs as brisket on a bone. They’re meatier, richer, and more substantial than baby back pork ribs. Heinen’s chefs developed the campfire coffee rub, which builds a dark, barky crust full of smoky depth and rich flavor. The meat inside stays tender and fall-off-the-bone soft. One bite and you’ll swear you spent all day at the smokehouse!

Heinen’s has already done the hard work for you. Simply wrap each rack in foil, bake low and slow, then finish with a quick sear on a hot grill to caramelize the crust and add an extra layer of smokiness.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe:

  • Brisket flavor, no smoker required. The coffee rub builds a dark, barky crust with smoky depth and rich flavor, all from your oven and grill.
  • Incredibly tender and juicy. Low and slow cooking locks in moisture so the meat is fall-off-the-bone tender every time.
  • There’s minimal effort required. Heinen’s Meat Department preps and seasons the ribs, so all you have to do is cook and enjoy!
