From fresh, crisp and juicy local apples, to flavorful and hearty fall and winter squash to festive fall cheeses and baked goods, the options for cooking, baking and snacking are sure to make this season delicious!

All About Apples

During peak season, our warehouse receives deliveries of local apples 3 days a week to ensure we are always stocked with the freshest pick available.

Quick Tips:

  • Store apples in the refrigerator to slow ripening and maintain flavor
  • Wash apples in cool water before serving
  • When cooking and baking, use more than one variety to add more flavor to your recipe
  • Pair with local cheese or Heinen’s Fresh Ground Nut Butters

Seasonal Hard Squash

Keims Family Farms is a second generation, family-owned Amish farm that has been a partner of Heinen’s for 15 years. Keims Family Farms grows 11 varieties of hard squash along with many other seasonal produce items for Heinen’s.

Quick Tips:

  • Store whole squash in a cool, dry place. No need to refrigerate
  • Local squash is available from mid-August through late November
